Invitation to Exeter Triathlon Club to join Exeter YMCA on the Great West Run
Exeter YMCA is really pleased and honoured to be an Official Great West Run Charity of the year for 2012. We would therefore like to invite members of Exeter Triathlon Club to join the Exeter YMCA team this year on the Great West Run. As an official Great West Run charity we have free places to give away for those who are willing to run in aid of Exeter YMCA, and raise £150 towards our work providing 15,000 nights’ accommodation and support every year to homeless young people in Devon. All our runners will receive their own personalised Exeter YMCA running vest, a certificate and fundraising pack with helpful tips on how to raise the target sponsorship amount. We will also be there on the day to cheer on our team and provide free refreshments for our runners and their supporters.
Through the money raised, Exeter YMCA will be able to continue providing a home to vulnerable, young homeless people from across Devon. Since 2010 the economic situation has taken its toll, and now homelessness is back on the rise in a big way for the first time since 2003. All this is in the context of the homelessness sector in Devon receiving a 40% local government funding cut. With the support of people like you and your friends, Exeter YMCA is determined to carry on serving young people come what may, and indeed expand our work to support more people in these difficult times.
