Swim training - Oct-Dec Empty Swim training - Oct-Dec

Well we're finally on the last week of our summer training cycle. Most of you will have finished racing (or at least after this weekend). I hope you've all had a good season and achieved what you wanted to.

From next week, until Christmas, we will be concentrating on technique. If you seriously want to improve your swimming for next year, then I strongly suggest that you come along during these months to learn some new drills and brush up on your technique.

Many people cut down their swimming until after Christmas, but this is the time when you need to be coming, when there's no pressure, and you have plenty of time to slow down and make changes.

Don't leave it 'til after Christmas to decide you really should do some work on your swimming! Those who've been coming for a few years will know that from Christmas things get serious! Twisted Evil

If you'd like to read up on stroke technique, the BTF now follow the Swim Smooth way of swimming. Check out their website www.swimsmooth.com, or take a look at their book (Amazon, £9).

Happy swimming!

Swim training - Oct-Dec Empty Swim Smooth

Post  Nico Sat Sep 29, 2012 3:34 am

As we are heading the 'Swim Smooth' way would it be an idea for the club to purchase 1 or 2 'Finis Tempo Trainer PRO' (as recommended in the Swim Smooth training) to help us all improve. Some sets could be defined with this tool in mind and each lane will have a go every 6 weeks. We could all benefit from this new tool.
Just an idea...don't even know if the club as some 'spare' money.
