Hill Time Trials

A message from Terry Windeatt...
"Hill climb time trails up Mamhead will commence in the New Year. Sorry for delayed start but the trip down under for the Worlds can take the blame. I haven't as yet sorted all the dates, but where I can, it will be the first Sunday in each month up to June.
1. Sunday 6th January
2. Sunday 10th February ( our first Aquathon is on the 3rd )
There will be a slight change in the format. Still meet at 0930hrs in the car park at Starcross - same as last year, but we will go for a quick ride around Powderham estate before going to the bottom of Mamhead to commence the time trail up the hill.
This will now be at 1030hrs ( last year it was 1000hrs ) so just 30mins later than last year if you just want to to meet there and do the time trail without a short ride beforehand.
This was well supported on occasions and if the same level of interest is shown again I will make sure they last for the 6 months. So it is down to you !!!!! "

"Well done to all those that did the "time trial" a couple of Sundays ago. A quality start with some exceptional times by some. Again we were fortunate with the weather, roads being dry and not too cold. Here are further dates for your diaries.
1. February 10th (our Aquathon is on the 3rd Feb - hopefully you've all entered !! )
2. March 3rd (our Aquathon is on the 10th March)
3. April 14th (our Aquathon is on the 7th April)
4. May 5th (our Exe Valley triathlon - Tiverton is on the 12th May)
For interest, here are the times from the 6th January ride.
Terry...22mins 14secs, Hanna...21min 44secs, Paul...20min 11secs, Steve 17min 36secs,
Fran...17min 34secs, Lawrie 16min 56secs, Tom 15min 22secs, Chris 15min 12secs
and well done to Matilda on 14mins 35secs ( 3rd fastest time since we started last year )
No pressure lads ??
Don't forget. Meet at Starcross 0930hrs for Powderham ride. We get back to the car park at about 1005hrs for those that miss this, or don't want to go for a ride beforehand. We than do the 3 mile ride to Mamhead for 1030HRS START. At the finish, we pop over to the cafe for a quick coffee and chat, before riding back to Starcross. Look forward to a few more next month.
