Plymouth Triathlon, 14th July

The Plymouth Triathlon (NB: ETC's Club Champs) and Junior Aquathlon for 2013 are on their way to be totally sold out for this year. All of the route information and maps are available on the club website, linked here: http://www.plymouthtriclub.co.uk/events/multi-sport/

Please do join us for a stunning and competitive race in beautiful surroundings. The local council have been out and repaired some of the potholes along the route and club members have been active in reporting other road defects to the local council. Highlights of the course this year include an ammended run route following the success of last minute changes last year due to extreme weather. Entrants will now have to run two laps of a spectacular course along with an opportunity to see who their nearest competitors are as they run out and back along the pier.

There are only 30 places remaining on the triathlon and a surge of interest means that we are expecting these to sell out very quickly. We urge you to book your place now, so that you have a guaranteed place before it is too late.

The Junior Aquathlon is also getting a lot of interest, so if you have a child that is between the ages of 8 and 16 (inclusive) that has far too much energy, then book them a place today. Their races are split into different distances depending on their age and are always well received. You can find out more from the link mentioned above.

Very well done to all ETC athletes who took part in today's scorching triathlon in Plymouth. There must be a few sunburnt shoulders this evening - mine included - despite slapping on suncream! Whose idea was it to swim first? Last would have been a better idea today!

Out of 200 competitors, only 35 were female! That's shocking! I think about 10 of them were from ETC though - so well done us! I shall be suggesting that next year they award a 'Best Female Club' award!
