Hospiscare One-Mile-Swim open for registration

Dear Swimmer,

The time has finally come to start thinking once again about cold water, swimming caps and new challenges as the Hospiscare 2010 one mile open water swim has now opened for registration! This year the swim is taking place on Sat 25th September at Roadford Lake.

Last year you raised over £ 4 0,000 to help ease the pain of terminal illness for thousands of local people , which is fantastic, thank you. We would be delighted if you could join us again at the South West’s only one mile open water swimming challenge, for what promises to be an even bigger event .

A few changes to the entry this year. We will be having a chipping system that will time you all individually and enable us to know quickly that your are all safely out of the water!

Groups will also be of mixed ability. The elite (can swim in under 25mins) will be the first group at 09.30am. All other groups will follow at 10 min intervals and you will be allocated your start time with confirmation of your entry. The maximum in a group will be 80 swimmers.

The entry fee is £27 but if you register before Monday 14th June you can pay the early bird rate of £25.

This was a fantastic event last year. Loads of people, raising loads of money, and there will be even more this year as so many spectators said they'd have a go too! Extremely well organised, terrific atmosphere, and all for a very worthwhile cause.

This year will be bigger and better, with the same great atmosphere. Fully marshalled and lake-based, great for beginners, improvers and an elite race for the experienced.
